"Presenter: Graham Mackintosh, Explorer and Author For the Baja enthusiast, Graham Mackintosh needs no introduction. In 1983 Graham Mackintosh was a lecturer at West Kent College in England, teaching social sciences and special education to unemployed teenagers. Describing himself as the "least adventurous person in the world”, Graham set out to walk around the beautiful but dangerous coastline of Baja California. Emerging from the cactus-strewn wilderness two years and 3000 miles later Graham returned to England to write the now classic, Into a Desert Place and there received the prestigious "Adventurous Traveler of the Year" award. Author of several Baja books and articles including the classics Into a Desert Place, Journey with a Baja Burro, Nearer My Dog to Thee and Marooned with Very Little Beer, Graham is an accomplished speaker with vast experience of 30 years exploring the Baja peninsula. Graham will talk about and show slides on these Baja adventures scanning 30 years, and also his latest project... kayaking a somewhat overloaded sit-on-top kayak from Puertecitos to La Paz.

Thank you for presenting your fascinating lecture, “A 3000-Mile Walk Around the Coast of Baja California,” to the members of the Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association… Your participation in the ABDNHA Desert Lectures added to the success of the entire series. There wasn’t a vacant seat in the house and we received so many compliments following your entertaining program.
Your talk was a huge success. I don't think I have ever had so many enthusiastic comments from the girls after a lecture. Roedean School, UK

Just saw your talk tonight at Sierra Club North County. Was probably the best talk I’ve seen anytime anyplace on any topic. Flawless and immensely entertaining!
On behalf of the membership of the Adventurers’ Club of Los Angeles, I would like to thank you for your presentation of “Journey with a Baja Burro.” After 16 years, you can see the guys still remembered you and to me it seemed like you were here just a couple of weeks ago from the way they talked about you.
Thank you so much for your recent presentation to the Palm Springs Writers’ Guild… Your presentation was outstanding, informative and very interesting for all who attended.
We loved your presentation!! "The best yet," "can we get him back?" "He is so funny," were some of the comments... By popular demand we want you back next season. The Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA
A million years ago I heard what must have been one of your first ever lectures, at the Royal Geographical Society in London, and am still chortling to this day.
The response from the boys has been terrific. I really can't remember such enthusiasm since I have been responsible for arranging lectures here. Seaford College, UK
Thank you so much for making our Banquet so special. I’ve gotten multiple emails saying what a great slide show you gave. Usually the crowd falls asleep! You overwhelmed them with a terrific story and super slides.
